Team Spirit

No matter how big or how small our business is, the day in and day out responsibilities can take it’s toll on us.  We reach a point where we need a “re-charge” or a “break” from all that we do. This is a perfect time to build some team spirit.

Dedicating time to focus on the successes of your business and the value you place on your team is essential to the overall success of any business.  Not only will it improve morale but it will also create a greater sense of pride, loyalty, and trust.  Ideas to consider include:

  • A team dinner.
  • Attending a ballgame.
  • Volunteering together at a local non-profit.
  • Creating a bulletin board of successes in a common area to recognize individuals.
  • Taking the team on a weekend retreat.

You will find that a little planning will go a long way, for when people feel valued they respond positively.

So, no matter what your role is at your company, be proactive in finding ways to create a positive work environment for yourself and others.  Don’t leave it to the boss or someone else for it’s true what they say, “There is no ‘I’ in team.”  When the team truly works together for a common goal it’s a win-win, for not only the company but for each individual that comprises it.  And, interestingly enough, although there may not be an ‘I’ in team, there is in win.

Keep it personal.
